The Friend’s of St Michael’s and The Colour Run
One chilly Saturday morning in September, we gathered at the pitches of Dromara GAC to have some fun! There was a penalty kick target, gladiator style combat, tug of war, an ice cream van, face painting and lots more. Best of all was a jog (or two) around the twisty-turny course whilst getting covered in paint! After that, there was even time for some delicious burgers and hot dogs.
All of this came about shortly after a meeting of our Parent’s Association, which re-committed to providing support, in every sense, for the benefit of our pupils. We confirmed the roles of chair and vice-chair, treasurer, and secretary, and everyone gathered agreed to pitch in and help where possible. This was put to the test in organising and running the Colour Run and the group came through in style.
A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their time to volunteer and help on the day, with special thanks to Irene and Brian Hunter for the lovely hot food, to Lorraine Smith and the C&L Disco Roadshow for the amazing music, to FunFit Sports for the inflatables and games, to Dromara GAC for the use of their fantastic facilities, to the Goldmark Youth volunteers who were just wonderful, and to all of our parents who helped in every and any way possible, and who turned up to support us on the day!
